David Henry, Vice-Chairman of the Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska, presented a Proclamation of Appreciation from the Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska to the Gordon Weston Indian Veterans Post. Sam Allen and Gordon Jones, Sr., Veterans and members of the Gordon Weston Indian Post accepted the award of appreciation. Vice Chairman Henry stated: “Our Tribe wanted to thank the Gordon Weston Indian Veterans Post for always coming through for us though the years. The Flandreau Veterans help us at Christmas, our annual Wacipi and for funerals. We really appreciate it.”

Training Services Initiative conference sponsored by the staff at Memorial VA Center, Bedford, Massachusetts and the FSST Economic Development Department.
The Proclamation reads: “ The Santee Sioux Nation does not have an active Veterans of Foreign Wars Post or an American Legion and members of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe have created the Gordon Weston Post and members of the Gordon Weston Post often assist the Santee Sioux Nation during funerals, pow-wows, Christmas and other events throughout the year and members of the Santee Sioux Nation recognize the many contributions made by the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe and the Gordon Weston Post, Flandreau, South Dakota.
