Sanford Children's Clinic Promoters Viist Royal River Casino

 

On November 7th Royal River Casino and the FSST Executive Committee hosted visitors from Las Vegas that were in Sioux Falls for the purposes of considering the possibility of Las Vegas as a site for a pediatric clinic, and perhaps some project surrounding sports medicine.  Michael Saba, PhD, Executive Director Development, Sanford Children’s Clinics and several Sanford leaders visited Las Vegas earlier and now the Las Vegas group traveled to South Dakota.

While in Sioux Falls for the planning of a children’s clinic in Nevada and meeting with Sanford  pediatricians, the group came to Flandreau for an evening of visiting with the Tribal Council, a meal and some gaming.

Jeannie Faber, Native American Outreach Coordinator for Senator John Thune, Sioux Falls office, accompanied the visitors to Flandreau to help give them the opportunity to meet with FSST leaders.

The FSST Executive Committee and Jackie Barse, Assistant General Manager arranged for a gourmet dinner prepared for the visitors and  served up banquet style.

The visitors that traveled here from Las Vegas: Rosemary Hyun, pediatrician & leader at Nevada Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Bill Downey, Pediatrician, Lisa-Mayo-DeRiso, marketing & events planning, Ricki Barlow, Councilman of Ward 5, (the area where the land will likely be located for a clinic),Denise McGuinn,RN, Dale Sprague, involved with Nevada Children’s Medical Center Foundation, David Brom, architect, and Nancy Imada, administrator with Nevada Children’s Medical Center Foundation.

FSST Executive Committee members present were: President Joshua Weston, Vice President Cyndi Weddell, Trustee’s Richard Allen, Gina Williams and Treasurer Gordon Jones, Jr.

This is the second occasion that Sanford Health has brought visitors to Royal River Casino for an evening out and to visit with an Indian Tribe. -Editor
