
Courtney Heitkamp will serve as East River Constituent Services Representative out of the Sioux Falls office, serving the greater Southeast area. Heitkamp will be responsible for handling constituent casework and maintain working relationships with various agencies across the state of South Dakota. A Sioux Falls native, Heitkamp interned with Senator John Thune in his Washington, DC office prior to graduating from Washington High School. She received her B.A. in Political Science, Humanities and Political Communications from Valparaiso University. Following graduation, Heitkamp worked for Friends of John Thune.
Ms. Heitkamp made her first visit to the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal office on April 7th. She was accompanied by Jeannie Hovland, Native American Outreach Coordinator for Senator John Thune and Michelle Smith, Senator John Thune’s aide. The Congressional staff ladies also visited Flandreau Indian School, Ledora McDougle-FSST Health Director, and toured Royal River Casino and enjoyed a buffet lunch, the FSST Economic Development Office and FSST’s Executive Committee. They attended the FSST Health Fair at Royal River Casino before heading back to their offices in Sioux Falls.
Congresswoman Noem serves on the Education and Workforce and the National Resources Committees, as well as the Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs. She has opened offices in Washington, DC, Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, Watertown and Rapid City.
