Leah Fyten Farewell Dinner

Thursday March 5th, 2008 was the farewell party for FSST Housing Director Leah Fyten all Tribal Office entities were invited.  Leah, a FSST tribal member, has been employed with the tribe for most of her life starting with summer youth programs.

Leah has accepted a position at Lower Sioux Tribe, in Morton MN, as Tribal Administrator.

After a brief speech expressing how she will miss her beloved staff along with the Housing Board whose outstanding work she commended them for.  Leah also expressed how that she enjoyed helping 18 tribal members purchase homes during her time as FSST Housing Director.

Concluding her speech Leah stated that she will be returning for regular visits to Flandreau and was elated that her family in Lower Sioux has welcomed her along with other community members.

Following Leah’s speech Joshua Weston FSST President and Jason Taylor FSST Vice-President presented Leah with a star-quilt and thanked her for years of service.

Tom Allen ,Jr. preformed the prayer before Leah and her family were first in line for the farewell dinner that consisted of Chinese food catered by Hy-Vee in Brookings, pizza and chicken from Pizza Ranch and Subway party subs.
