Valentines Day Celebration at Grace Moore Senior Citizens Center

February 14, 2008 at the Grace Moore Senior Citizens Center (GMSCC) love was in the air along with the enticing smell of a delicious banquet meal prepared by Sara DeClerk GMSCC Director, Sally Allen Cook, and Helena Thompson volunteers Brittney Stevens, Amber Allen, and Beverly Wakeman graciously volunteered their time to help serve the guests. Invitations were sent out requesting RSVP’s.

The staff at GMSCC decorated in traditional valentines colors, red and pink napkins placed on each table along with flower center pieces and no Valentines Day dinner wouldn’t be complete without candlelight chocolate candies which were also placed on each table.  Of course the tables weren’t the only decorated parts in GMSCC, red & pink heart streamers were hung from the ceiling, and the table with the love potion punch was surrounded by bouquets of flowers and chocolate candies. Also to add to the ambiance the tunes of Frank Sinatra  played to serenade the guests while they enjoyed their lovely meal.

Forty-five elders attended with their spouses or guest having braved the cold winter air for an evening of fun and good food.

The complete menu was: Love Potion Punch, Sweethearts Salad, Melt in your mouth Pork Chop with Onion Gravy, Rich & Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Bundled with Love Green Beans, Honey’s Whole-Grain Bread, and Luscious Raspberry Fluff Dessert.

As always the GMSCC Valentine’s Day dinner was wonderful and we would like to thank the GMSCC staff for providing the community with such an enjoyable evening.
