Father's Day Banquet hosted by the Grace Moore Senior Citizens Center

The Grace Moore Senior Citizens Center (GMSCC) hosted a Father’s Day Banquet to honor all Fathers & Sons at noon, Friday June 18th. Sara DeClerk – GMSCC Director, Sally Allen – cook & Helen Thompson- cook provided a meal of 3 different meats, Roast Beef, Ham & Turkey, real mashed potatoes with fresh gravy, glazed carrots and deviled eggs, homemade split top butter loaf bread and pumpkin pie for dessert.
The GMSCC was decorated in a festive style for the event with the music of Johnny Cash, filling the senior’s center. Many community members attended the event, to celebrate their fathers, grand fathers and sons for the special part they play in their family’s lives. Through example they teach leadership, compassion and fairness. Dads are partners in parenting, and can make their children feel safe and loved in a world full of turmoil.
Father’s Day is a day of commemoration and celebration of Dad. It is a day not only to honor your father, but all men who have acted as a father figure in your life – whether as Stepfathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or “Big Brothers.”
Thank you to all who attended the Father’s Day Banquet and thank you to the GMSCC for always providing such wonderful thoughtful events.
