The Grace Moore Senior Citizen’s Center staff and volunteers hosted the annual Thanksgiving dinner for all FSST employees and elders at Eastman Hall on Tuesday, November 6th.

The Grace Moore Senior Citizen’s (GMSC) staff thankfully had help from volunteers Beverly Wakeman, Pam Byrd, Wanda Cadotte, and Jeannie Faber (Senator John Thune’s Native American Outreach Coordinator). The volunteers helped with serving and decorating Eastman Hall with all the beautiful colors of fall.

Sally Allen, Cook and Sara DeClerk, Director; were very busy before the dinner with all the cooking preparations, but their efforts certainly paid off.  The dinner or feast  consisted of stuffing, fresh bread, beets, steamed veggie mix, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes and gravy; and of course platters (tons) of turkey with your choice of either  white or dark meat for picky eaters.

The GMSC estimated that they served about 175 people for this year’s Thanksgiving meal.

Sara DeClerk said: “On behalf of the Center we want to  thank Sid Byrd for his special prayer and to thank everybody who attended and our volunteers for all their hard work.”

After the dinner it was very difficult for retirees or employees to keep their eyes open  until 5 pm.
