Preceded in death by grandparents; her parents:  Amos & Sophia Weston, brothers: David, Calvin and Raymond Weston; sisters: Irene Weston, Margaret Sherman and Edna Cavender.

Survived by a brother: Dale Weston whom she raised, Dale’s wife: Jan and their children: Joni (Eric) Buffalohead, Alexandra, Eli and Ira; Tate (Suyapa) Weston, Chaske; Sara Plowman, Taylor and Kyndra; Adam (Natchez) Weston, Maya; brother: Elmer Harding Weston; sister: Virginia Weston Thompson; in addition to many nieces, nephews and a host of friends

Ellen M.  Weston, was born to Amos and Sophia on Nov. 15, 1918 at Santee, Neb.  Ellen and her family moved to Flandreau about 1927. Ellen attended and graduated from Flandreau Indian School in 1937.  On Aug. 12, 1943, Ellen enlisted in the army air force.  She trained at Lowry Field, Colo. to be a photo lab technician.  She served in the South Pacific.  Ellen’s duty was taking photos of GI’s, Civilian Personnel; worked directly with the FBI, taking photo’s intelligence necessary.  PFC Ellen served in these battles and campaigns; New Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Luzon.  She received the following Decorations and Citations; American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with three Bronze battle stars.  WAAC (Women’s Army Air Corp) Service Ribbon, one Overseas Service Strip, and a good Conduct Medal.  PFC Ellen was Photo Intelligence from the 2nd Army Air Force Photo Intelligence Division on Oct. 30, 1945.  Ellen worked for Eastman Kodak in Minneapolis for many years.  She moved to Flandreau in 1965 and was employed by the Flandreau Indian School in the Girls Dorm until she retired in 1984.  After retirement Ellen traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada and also made a return trip to the Philippines. Ellen entered the Riverview Manor in the summer of 2006 and spent her remaining days there.
