Flandreau-Joy Lynn Lovejoy, age 48, of Flandreau, South Dakota, died Saturday, August 5, 2006, at Riverview Manor in Flandreau.

She was born in Flandreau on April 22, 1958, the daughter of Michael W. and Dorothy J. Richter Lovejoy.

Joy Graduated from Mather High School and later attended Junior College in the Chicago, Illinois area.

She was a member of the Flandreau-Santee Oyate.

Joy liked to go to pow-wows, rummage sales, and her Grandma’s Elaine’s house; she enjoyed making dream catchers and going to the Riverview manor to play cards and visit with the residents.

She is survived by three daughters, Michelle (Lee) Lovejoy Hall of Carson City, NV and Ashley and Josephine “Josie” Hall, both of Egan, SD; a grandson, James Jeffrey Hall; her mother, Dorothy J. Pomper of Lombard  IL; her father, Michael W. Lovejoy of Minneapolis, MN a sister, Lisa Lovejoy of Trent, SD; her maternal grandfather, William Richter of Madison, SD; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rudy and Gloria Lovejoy, and by her maternal grandmother, Elaine Richter.

Funeral Services for Joy Lynn Lovejoy was held on Tuesday, August 8th at 2:00p.m. at Eastman Hall in Flandreau, SD. Pastor Jon Sanders officiating.
